Asbestos Abatement

Man in hazmat suit inspecting vermiculite attic insulation

Especially challenging today is the safe elimination of asbestos from a site, whether it's a home or a business. Our team will assess the extent of asbestos contamination and then detail plans for its removal. From the encapsulation of exposed asbestos, to the removal and disposal of contaminated materials to the proper facility, we are prepared to handle any asbestos problem. Finally, we will reinstitute or dismantle the no asbestos-free site as needed. Asbestos abatement includes the removal of thermal and surface insulation from pipes, boilers, water tanks, and mechanical equipment, in addiction to floor tile, fire proofing, transite panels and roofing materials.

Mold Remediation

Mold remediation consists of mitigating hazardous mold levels and fixing the causes of the mold, such as poor ventilation, ice dam leakage, and other issues. If you’ve had water damage or notice an unusual musty odor in your home or place of business, you may be at risk of mold contamination. Molds can produce toxic spores that is airborne and can cause serious health risks in both humans and animals.

What’s the process for removing mold?

Porous materials like sheetrock, have to be removed and replaced if mold is found. Wood, with only surface contamination, can have mold removed by disinfectants, fungicides, or ice blasting. Removal must be done using proper work practices, following industry standards. Work areas must be properly isolated and decontaminated otherwise mold contamination will spread. It's not enough to simply remove mold, there is usually an underlying cause.

At Shoreline Environmental, Inc. we are committed to employing the latest innovative and cost efficient remediation techniques and methods, while performing all procedures in accordance with standard industry practice and procedures.

Lead Abatement

Despite the federal government restricting its use in 1978, lead paint and lead impacted products remain a problem. Dangerous levels of lead dust particles can become unsettled during demolition and remodeling projects. In addition to lead paint, some ceramic tiles and porcelain products are glazed with a lead surface coating. Lead Paint removal is needed when old lead containing paint fails and paint chips or dust is prevalent

within living or work place environments. Lead paint exposure is especially harmful to children.

Our lead paint removal process includes a negative air enclosure with HEP Filtration and a decontamination suite to allow for worker entry. All lead abatement is performed in this enclosure and the area is completely cleaned up before removing the air enclosure.
